We seek an External Audit Coordinator with Health Insurance Industry experience for a position at our client’s busy group health benefits provider for members of the entertainment industry.

Our client provides vision, dental, psychiatric, medical and other healthcare benefits as well as pension plans to members (and their dependents) of creative industries, including motion picture, television and commercial production. The External Audit Coordinator works with an outside vendor and assists with the coordination of external audits including startup, billing and collection of small to medium company audits. Ideal candidates bring 3+ years’ experience in entertainment industry accounting, with specific knowledge in at least 2 of the following areas: payroll processing, contract administration, contribution reporting, collections or entertainment accounting. They have familiarity with WGA Minimum Basic Agreement and Trust Agreements and are known for their upbeat and helpful personality.

About the Opportunity:

  • Assist with external audit coordination
  • Review 20+ audit drafts each month for final reporting
  • Process audit findings
  • Calculate interest and audit costs
  • Approve credits
  • Calculate and issue premium refunds
  • Prepare and mail audit announcements, billing letters, confidentiality and tolling agreements
  • Enter audit fees and bills into V3
  • Maintain audit files, including copies of letters and backup documents
  • Prepare writer and employer earnings reports
  • Process internal corrections based on dispute resolutions
  • Process all audit payments
  • Audit, escalate and report on delinquent bills and notices
  • Process monthly bills
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly committee agendas and reports
  • Maintain bankruptcy files
  • Process correspondence (ie writer and owner document requests, Not Subject, Over Ceiling, etc)
  • Evaluate required contributions and how they relate to ceiling caps and calculations
  • Provide information about contribution reporting, Pension Plan Statements and contributions
  • Provide information about audit procedures, rules, billing letters, interest, collections, fees

About the Candidate:

  • 3+ years’ experience with payroll processing, contract administration, contribution reporting, collections and/or accounting (MUST)
  • 2+ years’ experience working in the entertainment industry accounting (MUST)
  • 1+ years’ experience working with WGA Minimum Basic Agreement and Trust Agreements (MUST)
  • Intermediate computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access (MUST)
  • Personality and Characteristics: "can-do" attitude, strong organizational skills, analytical, multi-tasker, interpersonal skills, team player, ability to prioritize, able to meet deadlines, able to work in fast paced environment, solid customer service skills, excellent time management
