Job Description

Our client, a non-profit organization in DTLA that focuses on providing housing opportunities to homeless or low-income individuals, has an immediate need for a Compliance Specialist. The individual in this role will assign income eligible applicants to low-income housing units, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform interviews to ensure that applicants meet requirements for low-income house
  • Assist in coordinating
  • Assist with annual compliance audits
  • Coordinate application processing for multiple properties, including applicants with Section 8 documents
  • Prepare monthly reports for the Compliance Administrator regarding all move-ins
  • Coordinating duties for Rental Office staff to ensure all vacant units
  • Maintain wait list for reasonable accommodations
  • Act as liaison to various state and local agencies
  • Data entry
  • Following local regulations including the LIHTC and HOME Programs
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • 1-2 years experience in Affordable Housing (LIHTC, HOME, Section 8 housing)
  • LIHTC and HOME program knowledge
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in MS Office
  • Yardi Voyager experience
